Flying to Slovenia from Austrian Airports Affordably

Cheap flights to Austria might be another great idea to travel to Slovenia. You may have decided to widen your trip a little and visit Austria prior to arriving in Slovenia.

If this is the case, getting to Slovenia from Vienna, Klagenfurt or Graz, for example, is pretty straightforward.

Vienna to Slovenia

By Train
There is a train from the airport to the city train station, Vitte Mitte, every sixteen minutes. Following on from this there are many train connections to Slovenia on a daily basis.

By Car
Take the E58 motorway from the airport in the direction of Vienna, then after around 10 kilometers pick up and stay on the A4 until you reach the E59 exit marked for Graz. This will take you all the way to Maribor, Slovenia.

Klagenfurt to Slovenia

By Bus
City buses numbers 40 and 45 connect the airport to the main railway stations in Klagenfurt every thirty minutes between six am and eleven pm. You can't miss the bus stop - it's just outside the airports arrivals hall.

You will then need to take a train from here to Villach and continue on to Jesenice, Ljubljana, in Slovenia, also by train. There are several options for you here.

By Car
This involves you taking the regional road numbered E662 and then the E61 motorway leading directly from Klagenfurt to Ljubljana.

Graz to Slovenia

By Bus
Once more, you can't miss the bus stop located only 300 meters from the main airport building and from here you can take the bus to Graz station and then make your way to the train station, some ten minutes away.

By Train
Graz railway station operates several runs each day to either Maribor or Ljubljana.

By Car
Motorists should follow the E59 or E57 leading from Graz to Maribor, Slovenia.
