Sekanice (Easter meat loaf with eggs, ground pork, veal, etc.)

I need a recipe for this Easter loaf, please.

I regret but Sekanice seems to be a polish easter recipe. We don't know it here in Slovenia.

al and linda's old world meats in bainbridge ohio make a great rendition of this ----

Grandmas Recipe

3# veal
2# pork
1 medium onion
12 slices bread (cubed)
1/4 C. chopped chives
10-12 eggs
3 t. salt (2 in pot with meat
1 t. pepper
1/4 t. majoram
1/4 t. nutmeg
1 T. chopped parsley
5 gloves garlic (crushed)

Cut an "x" in the top of the onion to release pressure during cooking (skin and all) and put in a large soup pot with meat and 2 t. salt. Add water to cover meat. Boil until tender.
Cool meat, reserve liquid for soup and discard the onion. Cut meat into small cubes. Soak bread in 1 C. of broth.
Add eggs and rest of ingredients. Mix well with hands. (Should have a pudding consistancy)
Generously grease pans and generously sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Pour egg and meat mixture in pans and bake at 350f for about 1 hr until golden brown.

Sekanice recipe

3 lbs pork shoulder
3 lbs veal shoulder
8 to 12 eggs
1 or 1 1/2 cups of chives
2 to 4 cups of bread crumbs

Boil meat until tender
chop in small pieces
mix everything together adding juice from meat to make it consistency of moist stuffing

put in a 13x9 pan and bake for an hour to hour and a half until firm at 350 degrees

top with buttered bread crumbs

Bohemian-American cookbook (Czechoslovakian)

Just was looking for an alternate recipe and saw this request. The Bohemian-American cookbook has a recipe for sekanica (or sekanice). I also had my grandmas recipe(czech) but I seem to have misplaced it. Will call her and see if I can get hers again and compare the (possibly)copywrited version and grandmas.
