Slovenia Coast

small but absolutely lovely

The Slovenia Coast offers with every kilometer a new surprise. The "small" Slovenia is offering various remarkable landscapes presenting nature without environmental damages, historic places, mountains, hilly areas, rivers, lovely towns.

slovenia beaches

Learn here about the South West, an Adria coastal area of about 47 km length with wonderful Slovenia beaches.

slovenia coast

Jump with us on a boat and we'll show you in the following which picturesque towns and spots to visit at the adriatic coast of Slovenia.

The impressive Strunjan Cliff

Typical here is the rich fund of sandstone and marl which gives this natural reserve its charactaristique touch. Not to forget the unique and highest flysh wall on the Adriatic Coast: The eighty meter Strunjan cliff! - always worth a visit!

a little jewel on its own especially for families

This Slovenia coast is a really short one but nevertheless a little jewel of its own. The Mediterranean climate with warm summer times and mild winter months, the Italian influenced cuisine, many small and medium sized hotels, especially suitable for families too, and the sport services invite to stay and relax at Slovenia beaches.

all you need for a fine beach holiday?

slovenia beaches Grand scale beach areas present all you need for a fine beach holiday: deck-chairs and sunshades for rent, water slides for the kids, clear water, flat sand, snack bars … all quite near comfortable hotels in splendid little parks with their tennis courts, swimmingpools, bars and small shopping malls, flowers around and a pure salty air to breath. Slovenia beaches at their best. What to want more?

By the way, the picture with the sand beach (made in Spain) is misleading. If you prefer white great sand beaches similar to the picture on the left, you won't find any here...

Hot Spot Towns

Naturally there is a Marina too and e.g. Piran, besides its extraordinary architecture, offers a base for scuba diving, well equipped and capably run. So does Portoroz. It offers many modern hotels with congress halls, a sport airport, a fully equipped marina, a casino and a colourful offer of summer entertianment, cultural or sports events. Even wrack diving tours are possible.

But also Koper draws visitors with its medieval buildings.

Secovlje Saltworks

Another tip is to visit the Secovlje Saltworks. They were first mentionned in the 13th century, while nearby you'll find a sactuary for over hundred bird species.

Special Tip: Holiday Flat in the hinterland

If you prefer staying a little bit more silently you may book in hotels or take a holiday flat in the hinterland, only a few kilometres away. You will find excellent resorts presenting the same advantages like the Slovenia beach areas, which you can reach even by foot walking or in some minutes by car.

Karst region an armlength away

There is another reason why to stay in the hinterland is to detect the beauties of Slovene Istria. Want another reason? Behind the Slovenia Coast the Karst region begins, a heaven for lovers of the karst underworld. But also a gourmets' paradise with specialities like the "prsut".

Sightseeing flights in Portoroz

A special tip in the end - South of Portoroz there is a small airport offering sightseeing flights along the coast.
