Tourism

Surrounded by natural beauty of mountain ranges, rivers, and valleys, it remains a fabulous alternative to the crowds and rush attracted by other tourist sites in Europe. Tourists are attracted by the warm climate and sunny weather as it sits on the "sunny side of the Alps".

Slovenia is open to tourism since 1991. There are best conditions for winter sports, wandering, hiking, climbing, surfing, sailing and so on. It is said, Yugoslavia is the birth place of skiing. The landscape is marvellous all over of the country and ideal for slovenia tourism.

Largest Towns

Highest frequented by tourists is the historic city centre of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. There are a lot of traces of the Habsburg regency as well as numerous gothic churches in this town. Additional you can see nice art nouveau buildings there. The largest town in east Slovenia is Maribor on Drau River with its more than 100000 inhabitants.
