slovenian frika recipe

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Slovenia and had a potato, cheese and bacon dish called freaka. I would love to make this does anyone know this recipe? (would especially like to know what kind of cheese they used)

Hi,
Frika is a regional dish from the Soca valley.
This is what you need for "frika":
- 4 big potatoes
- bacon (not smoked)
- cheese (tolminec at best)
- salt
- some oil

Cut bacon in small cubes and fry it with some oil in a pan until crusty. Add pototoes that have been peeled and cut in very thin slices (the thinner the better). Season with salt.

Fry altogether until potatoes are done (should be a bit brown).

Add in small cubes cut cheese, just before it's ready - cover the pan and let the cheese melt. As soon as the cheese is melted turn around the "pancake" made of bacon, potatoes and cheese and
fry the other side too until it's ready!

Dober tek!
