sour soup - kisla zupa

by Patricia Labellarte (Yeglic)
(Memphis Mi USA)

I do not know how to spell this soup in slovenian. We called it sour soup because you add vinegar to the broth at the time you eat it. It is beef and vegi's. I don't know the exact recipe...and I'd really like to know if this is truly slovenian or if my grandmother added to an existing soup.
It is pronounced KEESHLA ZOUPA. Help..does anyone have this recipe?

I have just about every recipe of my grandmother's but this one. I'm craving it....she always added chicken feet to the soup and everyone just loved it.

I agree!! All I have are the memories too. The taste will never leave my memory! I can still see my Grandfather sitting across the table from me with his bowl and the Vinegar cruet in the middle of the table! Oh does SOMEONE have this recipe???
As soon as I track it down, I promise I'll share with everyone!!
Thank you Jack

This is the real deal. My mother and grandmothers made it and I did like it which is pretty good for a fussy eater as a child. What I do remember is my mom called it imprane (I'm prane). There were two versions: one with beef and another where a pasta was substituted for the beef (good lenten dish).

Sorry I don't have the recipe. Wish I did but all I have are the memories.
